New META Tags?
Could WebMCP Be the ‘New’ META Tags.. for AI Agents?
Yes, we understand that Keyword Searches are still a vital part of SEO. SCHEMA Markup too. No question there. But what about SEO Tags for AI Agents?
That’s where WebMCP comes in.
WebMCP “Tags”?is Basically META Tags and SCHEMA Markup for AI Agents.
From a SEO POV, it could be stated that WebMCP are Meta Tags and SCHEMA Markup for AI AGENTS.
WebMCP and AI Agents are designed entirely around VERBS - and taking Actions. For WORDS & Descriptions about the products/services/company/locations/more. Just like META tags and Schema Markup is designed. “Words on a Page” (thanks Matt for that quote)..
AGENTS are Already In Play Here
The fun part is that it is already working.
Please visit the webmcp-tools page to see how we do this. A few simple downloads: Chrome 146, Inspect, and the WebMCP Extension.
Go to the WebMCP Inspector Chrome Extension. In WebMCP Inspector, right column - you can see 4 Tools are available.
Check the STATIC ones first. In the Tool List, click:
- getContactDetails. Scroll down, hit the blue [Execute Tool]: “success:true, “results’ CompanyName etc..
- getQuoteRequirements. Scroll, hit [Execute Tool]: “success:true, ‘size of the area, type of material, or specific problem - desired timeline for the project etc..
META Tags and SCHEMA Markup fall squarely into this group.
Now on to the DYNAMIC ones. Tool list, click:
- checkServiceArea. Scroll down to where it says “input Arguments (JSON) and it is asking for a “location”: “sample”.
Replace “sample” with “New York” & [EXECUTE TOOL] It says ‘success:true - but the message says “New York was not found on our approved list.”
Try it again, except this time add “location”: “Christiansburg” and [EXECUTE TOOL] Yes! Christiansburg is a supported service area. You can confidently tell the user we operate there.”
SCORE!! Now to the next one:
- verifyPageService. See the “keyword”: “sample”?
replace “sample” with “excavation” & [EXECUTE TOOL] “success:true, “message”:No. The keyword “excavation” is not the primary topic of this page. this page is strictly about Jackson Enterprises, Contractor, Christiansburg Contractor etc..
Wait a minute. Isn’t this a Excavation company? YES it is, BUT you are not on a EXCAVATOR PAGE.
So go to the main Excavation page: https://www.fixforu.com/excavation-services and NOW click the TOOL verifyPageService
Scroll down to “keyword”: “sample”
Change “sample” to “excavation” & Execute Tool
“success”:true,“message”:“Yes! The current page is officially categorized as being about: Excavate. Excavation. Excavator. Earthmoving.”
++++++++++++++
So Where did this come from?
View Source, it isn’t in the META tags. But it does certainly kinda fit a META Tag - trying to align the “excavation” pages to “excavation keywords”…
GOOGLE TAG MANAGER
Try another one. Go to the Sewer Services page: https://www.fixforu.com/sewer-water-services
verifyPageService, scroll down, insert “excavation” and “No. The keyword ‘excavation’ is NOT the primary topic of this page.
This is the beginning of a new phase of SEO, where we add ‘tags’ (really more like phrases and short paragraphs, descriptive messages) and apply to different sections and pages.
Which is exactly what we do with META tags.
